The comments are missing what I’m intending.

I appreciate the dialog that my blogs have generated. However, the comments are missing what I’m intending. And that is; the root cause of project failures happen when they are initiated without knowing how the business operates as a whole. Knowing how a operates as a whole is transparent to a project including enterprise software acquisition and implementation projects. However, in the case of enterprise software acquisition and implementation projects not knowing how the business operates as a whole, before the project is initiated, results in the failures that occur over 60% of the time.

The comments I’m getting are focused on methods, methodologies or best practices. All are fine but they don’t address how a company operates business transaction by business transaction and therefore don’t describe and document how the business operates as a whole.
